Immigration services

Client size: pan-African

Acting for a pan-African retailer in connection with immigration services, including securing permits, special passes, and dependent passes for expatriate families. With the retailer having up to 20 foreign members of staff, we were required to provide evidence of the need for that many foreigners in the re-establishment of the company. Kenya’s policies prioritise its citizens for new jobs, and the entry of large foreign groups is heavily scrutinised. Our immigration experts were, however, able to show beyond any doubt that the skill and experience of the expats were critical at the re-inception stage of the business while presenting evidence of numerous roles available to Kenyans. The project was a success with all permits and passes being approved in good time, leading to the establishment of two outlets in the country’s capital, Nairobi.

Client size: Multinational

Adili’s immigration team helped expats employed by a multinational company renew their work permits without leaving the country, as their existing permits became nullified when they transitioned from their previous engagements.

Kenyan law does not support transferrable permits, and as these expats joined the multinational, our team were quick to apply for cancellation of the existing permits, securing special passes that allowed the expats to start work with the new employer while their new work permits were being processed. This support provided a seamless transition for the expats, who received their work permits before their special passes expired.
