Trainee

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Supporting secretarial works such as attending to annual compliance requirements and periodic changes such as changes in directors or shareholders, issue of shares, increase in authorised capital, transfer of shares, charge satisfaction, charge creation and modification 
  • Assisting in the incorporation and administration of Kenyan companies and foreign entities. 
  • Assisting with meeting support to include convening and attending Board, Board Committee and general meetings, drafting notices of the meetings, drafting minutes of the meetings, drafting resolutions and other company secretarial documents. 
  • Submitting returns and notifications to the Registrar of Companies and following up for processing
  • Assisting in all types of Business Licensing and Registrations
  • Supporting in making applications for work and residence permits and duty remission facilities for expatriate staff.
  • Providing cover for the team in the absence of other members.
  • Ad hoc project support in order to support the delivery of the Secretarial Services Team objectives.
  • General Administration.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities

This role will require a person with high levels of ambition and commitment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or any other business related discipline. 
  • Graduate from a recognised institution- a minimum B+ in High School and second class Upper and above. 
  • Should have at least completed the foundation level of Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) Course.
  • Basic knowledge of private and public limited companies.
  • The ability to build and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of people, internally and externally.

The role will be based Kenya, with potential travel within East Africa.
